Busiest season ever successfully concluded at Bachfest Leipzig

Last season was our busiest ever. With our own production J.S. Bach - The Apocalypse, and the co-productions Song of the dark forest and Mozart's Zauberflöte - the next generation, we played 100 performances in 35 cities that attracted over 45,500 visitors.

Over 14,000 visitors see ‘J.S. Bach – The Apocalypse’

After 27 performances in the Netherlands and Germany, the tour of 'J.S. Bach – The Apocalypse' has come to an end. What started as an idea in 2019 has now reached its conclusion—a dream fulfilled. More than 14,000 visitors attended the production, which was met with enthusiasm from both press and audiences.

‘Mozart’s Zauberflöte’ ends tour after 49 performances

With three performances at the Goudse Schouwburg, the tour of Mozarts Zauberflöte – the Next Generation came to an end this weekend. This production, created in collaboration with the Theateralliantie, was performed a total of 49 times— from The Hague to Groningen and from Amsterdam to Heerlen.

With the 2023/24 season approaching, we gave a preview of our opera 'J.S. Bach – The Apocalypse' at the Koninklijke Schouwburg in The Hague and the TAQA Theater De Vest in Alkmaar. In the first quarter of 2024, this production was performed in theaters across the Netherlands.

On October 7, 2022, it was fifteen years since OPERA2DAY’s very first performance took place. In the Kees van Baaren Hall of the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, we staged The Fairy Queen by Purcell—an energetic production and a surprise out of nowhere for the audience.

New Bach opera premieres, not on tour

At the beginning of 2022, OPERA2DAY and the 100-year-old Netherlands Bach Society were set to bring a unique opera production to the stage 26 times: J.S. Bach – The Apocalypse, or the opera Bach never wrote. However, due to government pandemic measures, we had to cancel the tour.
