The just announced continued lockdown in the Netherlands dictates that the opening night of our new production The Mad King cannot take place. Eventhough nothing can replace the experience in a real theater venue, we would like to welcome you to the next best thing:

LIVE STREAM THE MAD KING

We designed The Mad King to be an immersive theater experience, starting as usual in the foyer of the theatre. A sensation sadly missing in a live stream. Normally, we continue working on a production after the first try out - but as of now, no audience has seen The Mad King yet. We are very much looking forward to 'the real thing' in the theaters, when it is allowed again! For now, enjoy the live stream.

The history

When we decided to produce The Mad King in August, when it became clear that our major production could not be staged beceause of the covid limitations, we immediately built in all kinds of 'corona safety measures'. Everyone in cast and crew, from musician to production manager, has an understudy and can be replaced if necessary due to illness or quarantine. Also, we worked on playing in front of cameras instead of a live audience. And we succeeded, we managed to create a flexible, full-fledged opera in a short time, totally tuned in to present times. And we are extremely proud of it.
