During these auditions, the students worked on various pieces from <i>Carmen<\/i> alongside our musical director Hern\u00e1n Schvartzman, B\u2019Rock concertmaster Cecilia Bernardini, and r\u00e9p\u00e9titeur Shintaro Kawahara. With these sessions, OPERA2DAY aims not only to select instrumentalists for the orchestra but also to provide an enriching day that helps students progress in the world of opera\u2014an invaluable opportunity for their career development.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>B\u2019Rock<\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The vibrant B\u2019Rock Orchestra from Ghent made waves this year with its interpretation of <i>Carmen<\/i> on period instruments, performing in concerts across Europe under the direction of Ren\u00e9 Jacobs. They played a version as Bizet originally envisioned it, before the managers of the Op\u00e9ra-Comique in Paris demanded major changes\u2014only then was the famous <i>Habanera<\/i> introduced, for example.
