Yet, almost all of these operas focus on just one or a few passages from the nearly 1000-page novel or reduce the character to a simple madman. It explores themes such as the gap between lofty dreams and harsh reality, the increasing clashes between cultures, and the search for one\u2019s own place in a globalising world. Composer Vanni Moretto weaves enchanting medieval compositions into his score to reflect Don Quixote\u2019s fantasies. The concept and libretto are by Stefano Simone Pintor, who was previously part of the team that made Vivaldi \u2013 Dangerous Liaisons<\/i> a great success. Pintor also takes on the stage direction, supported by OPERA2DAY\u2019s fantastic team for set design, costumes, and lighting.
