Secondary Education Program: The Opera Circus
In the 2025–2026 school year, OPERA2DAY is offering an education program across the Netherlands. Secondary school students participate in two workshops and attend the performance The Opera Circus.
The Performance
The Opera Circus is a 90-minute opera (without intermission) where opera and circus come together. It explores the universal and timeless theme of “mistrust and trust.”
In The Opera Circus, OPERA2DAY pays tribute to the master of dramatic music, George Friedrich Händel, and the spectacular theater of his time. Furious and moving arias alternate in his work, while acrobatics and rapid set changes captivated audiences visually. By combining these historical theater techniques with contemporary circus, the magic of baroque opera comes to life once again. See also: opera2day.nl/the-opera-circus
